This is what you are agreeing to when you publish a tutor profile on FrostBoard Academy. It is written to be read, not skimmed past, because most of it comes down to one idea: families are trusting you with their kids, and FrostBoard is telling them plainly that it checked who you are and did not check anything else.
Version 2026-08-04.1 · Last updated August 2026
This agreement applies to anyone who publishes a tutor, instructor, or coach profile on FrostBoard Academy ("Academy"). FrostBoard is operated by The Whitney Group LLC, a company registered in the State of Alaska.
It is read together with the FrostBoard Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. Where this agreement is more specific about Academy activity, this agreement governs that activity.
Publishing a profile means accepting this agreement. If you do not accept it, do not publish.
To the fullest extent allowed by applicable federal and state laws, you affirm that each of the following is true of you, and that it will remain true for as long as your profile is published:
FrostBoard does not verify these affirmations and does not run background checks. FrostBoard does not ask you to disclose a criminal record, does not want one disclosed, and does not keep a record of one. This is an affirmation that the statements above are true, and nothing else. Nothing in this section is a representation, warranty, or guarantee by FrostBoard that every tutor or every member meets these criteria, or that any tutor or any family is safe, eligible, or suitable for any purpose.
The first message from a family, and the conversation that follows it, happen inside FrostBoard messaging. Once you and a family have agreed to work together, you are free to exchange phone numbers and set up however suits you both, inside that conversation.
Before that point, the following are not allowed:
This one is not bureaucracy. A conversation that lives on FrostBoard is a conversation that can be looked at if a report is filed, and that record protects the tutor as often as it protects the family.
Alaska law requires certain people to report suspected child abuse or neglect, under Alaska Statute 47.17. Teachers, school employees, child care providers, health practitioners, and others named in that statute carry that duty because of who they are, and it does not switch off during private tutoring on evenings and weekends.
You are responsible for knowing whether you are a mandatory reporter. FrostBoard is not your lawyer and cannot make that determination for you, and FrostBoard cannot make a report on your behalf.
If you need to report:
Please also report it to FrostBoard through the report tool, so the account can be stopped from reaching anyone else while the authorities do their work. Reporting to FrostBoard is never a substitute for reporting to the state.
By publishing a tutor profile, you agree that FrostBoard may periodically review publicly available records and public information to help keep the community safe. That can include public registries, court and agency records that are open to the public, public news and web sources, and the way a profile and an account behave on FrostBoard itself.
FrostBoard may take (but is not required to take) any action it deems appropriate based on that review, including asking you about what it found, pausing your profile, suspending it, or removing it.
Two limits on this, stated plainly:
This review happens after a profile is live, not before. Nobody stands between a finished profile and a published one.
If it is uncovered that you misrepresented any part of this agreement, including the affirmations in Section 2, your identity, your credentials, or your experience, the result is permanent:
FrostBoard may take (but is not required to take) any action it deems appropriate in these circumstances, may act without prior notice, and may report the matter to law enforcement where that is appropriate.
This covers your profile, your offerings, your photos, and what you write to families in messages. The rules are short, and the examples under them are the actual line.
FrostBoard may take (but is not required to take) any action it deems appropriate when this policy is broken, including editing a field, pausing a profile, suspending it, or removing it.
Six years tutoring high school algebra and geometry. I am not a certified teacher.
Certified math teacher, when no certificate is held.
Saying what you are not is allowed and respected here. Implying a credential is misrepresentation, and misrepresentation is permanent.
We work the skills the class is testing, and I send a short note to the parent after every session.
Guaranteed one full letter grade in 30 days or your money back.
You can describe how you work. You cannot promise an outcome you do not control.
Message me here and we will find a time that works.
Text me at 907-555-0134 for faster booking, written in a profile field.
First contact stays on FrostBoard. Share a number inside the conversation once you have agreed to work together.
A clear, current photo of you, alone.
A photo of you with a student, or any photo that includes a child.
No child's face belongs on a tutor profile, including your own kids.
Bible-based literature study for grades 6 to 8, listed under Faith-Based.
Chemistry tutoring that turns into a conversion conversation.
Families choose what they signed up for. Deliver the thing they chose.
Snowmachine maintenance basics in my shop, parent present, agreed in writing before the session.
Riding lessons arranged directly with a 15 year old and no parent on the thread.
A minor never sets up a session, and anything with real risk needs the parent's written go-ahead first.
Asking a parent whether you may mention their child's progress in a public post, and honoring a no.
Posting a student's graded test, name, or diagnosis anywhere.
What happens in a session belongs to that family.
Reviews on FrostBoard follow the person across the whole platform, and on Academy they run both ways: families review tutors, and tutors can review the adult who engaged them.
Manipulating reviews, in either direction, ends access to Academy and can end access to FrostBoard.
You can pause your profile at any time and it leaves the directory immediately. Conversations you already have stay open. You can unpause whenever you want, and there is nothing to reapply for. You can also remove the profile entirely and keep the rest of your FrostBoard account exactly as it is.
FrostBoard can also pause or suspend a profile, for a report, a safety concern, or a content policy problem. When that happens you are told the reason, unless the law or an active investigation prevents it.
A report that involves a child's safety freezes the profile automatically while it is reviewed. That is not a finding against you. It is what a platform does when a child might be involved, and it happens before any person has read the report.
You are independent. You set your own rates, choose your own students, run your own schedule, and teach your own way.
FrostBoard does not employ you, does not supervise lessons, does not place or refer students, does not set your prices, and is not a party to any agreement between you and a family. You are responsible for your own taxes, licenses, insurance, and business obligations.
FrostBoard is not an employment agency, a staffing agency, a background screening service, a consumer reporting agency, or a child care referral service.
FrostBoard cannot guarantee anyone's safety. Nothing on this platform, and nothing in a tutor's profile, is a promise, an implied representation, or a guarantee that a tutor is safe, qualified, or a good fit for a particular student. FrostBoard strongly encourages every family to do its own due diligence before lessons start, and to keep paying attention after they do.
Nothing in this section is a representation, warranty, or guarantee by FrostBoard that every tutor or every member meets these criteria, or that any tutor or any family is safe, eligible, or suitable for any purpose.
FrostBoard makes no implied or guaranteed representation about the safety, character, or suitability of any tutor, any family, or any student. Verification of identity is verification of identity. It is not a judgment about a person.
This agreement is versioned. When it changes in a way that matters, you are asked to accept the new version before your profile keeps running, and the version you accepted is recorded with the date.
Small corrections, such as fixing a typo or a broken link, do not require re-acceptance. Continuing to keep a profile published after a non-material change means you accept it as updated.
