Get listed on FrostBoard Academy
Alaska families are looking for help with math, reading, music, trades, test prep, and everything a student allotment can cover. Pick what you do and put up a listing.
Which one are you?
I am a vendor
A business or a person approved to be paid from a student's allotment, or selling curriculum and materials to Alaska families.
I tutor students
One on one or small group work on a subject, usually ongoing.
I coach
Sports, executive function, admissions, career. Skill and progress over a season rather than a syllabus.
I mentor
A trade, a craft, or a path you have walked. Often hands on, often one student at a time.
I teach a class or a group
Lessons, co-op classes, workshops, flight or safety training. A set group, a set schedule.
More than one of these fits? Pick the one families would search for first. You can say everything else on your listing, and you can change it later.
What direct pay means
Most Alaska homeschool families are enrolled in a state correspondence program, and every student gets an annual allotment for approved education costs. When a vendor is approved with your program, the program can pay them straight from that allotment and nothing comes out of your pocket. Other vendors take payment from you and your program pays you back. Both spend the same allotment. The difference is whether you float the money.
Approval is between a vendor and the program, and each program decides what it will cover. FrostBoard shows what a vendor has told us, it does not approve vendors or confirm what your allotment will pay for. Check with your program before you commit.
