    Your Safety is Our Foundation

FrostBoard is built on three layers of trust: verification, reputation, and AI-powered monitoring.

    Three Layers of Trust

    Layer 1: Verification Gates

Before anyone can sell, they prove they're real. Different categories require different levels of verification.

    • Basic: Email + Phone verified → General browsing and buying
    • Verified: SMS code confirmed → Post listings, leave reviews
    • ID Verified: Government ID reviewed → Firearms, aircraft, vehicles, real estate, business, and other high-value or regulated categories
    • Dealer Verified: Business license + ID → Commercial seller badge and tools

    Layer 2: Community Reputation

Every transaction builds history. Every review matters.

    • Star ratings from real transactions
    • Review count displayed on every profile
    • Response time and rate tracked
    • Verification badges visible everywhere
    • Bad actors get exposed fast. Reputation is currency here

    Layer 3: AI Monitoring

Our systems watch for fraud patterns 24/7.

    • Price anomaly detection (suspicious pricing flagged instantly)
    • Listing pattern analysis (scam templates caught automatically)
    • Account behavior monitoring (suspicious activity triggers review)
    • Image verification (stock photos and duplicates detected)

    What Each Verification Level Means

    Why Verification Matches the Stakes

Firearms. Aircraft. Vehicles worth tens of thousands. Remote properties you cannot easily visit. These carry the highest stakes, so they carry the highest bar: a government ID check. A couch on a curb just needs the basics. See the full firearms policy and our community guidelines for the rules that apply.

Every member confirms a real phone number and location before they post. For high-value and regulated categories, we require a government ID, matched to a real person, before the listing goes live. Read more about why we verify sellers, or learn about FrostBoard and the team behind it.

Legitimate sellers are happy to prove they're real. That is the filter.

    Protect Yourself

    For Buyers

    • Check seller verification badges
    • Read reviews from past transactions
    • Ask questions. Legitimate sellers respond
    • Meet in safe, public locations when possible
    • Never wire money or pay in gift cards
    • If it seems too good to be true, it probably is

    For Sellers

    • Complete verification to build trust
    • Respond promptly to inquiries
    • Be honest in your descriptions
    • Document condition with clear photos
    • Report suspicious buyers

Why FrostBoard Is Safer Than Unverified Marketplaces

Most online marketplaces do not verify who their users are. Anyone can sign up with an email address, post a listing, and disappear. That is the model on most general classifieds and unverified marketplaces. FrostBoard takes the opposite approach.

What Goes Wrong on Unverified Platforms

    • Fake listings. Scammers post items they don't own, collect deposits or "shipping fees," then vanish. Without verification, there's no real consequence.
    • No-show buyers and sellers. Anonymous profiles mean anyone can waste your time without accountability.
    • Stolen-goods laundering. Stolen cars, electronics, tools, and firearms move through unverified marketplaces because sellers don't have to prove they are who they say they are.
    • Bait-and-switch and counterfeit items. When a seller's identity is hidden, accountability is hidden too.

    What FrostBoard Does Differently

    • One-time ID verification. $5, verified for life. Anyone listing in a high-value or regulated category has their government ID matched against a live selfie before they can post.
    • Alaska-based members. Members confirm a real location, so it is far harder for out-of-state scammers to pose as locals.
    • Community reputation. Buyers and sellers build a verified reputation across every transaction. Bad actors lose access.
    • AI moderation. Listings are scanned for scam patterns, stolen-goods indicators, and policy violations before they go live.
    • Safe-meetup support. Public verified meetup locations, real-time location sharing during meets, and a built-in safety check-in.

No system is perfect. Verified marketplaces still require buyers and sellers to use common sense. But the difference between a platform where every member is identified and a platform where nobody is identified is the difference between a community and a free-for-all. FrostBoard is the community.

    See Something? Say Something.

If you encounter suspicious activity, report it immediately. Every report helps us protect the community.
