Child Accounts, Built for Alaska Families

Kids in Alaska earn. They sell the four-wheeler they outgrew, the eggs from the coop, the firewood they split all summer. FrostBoard gives them a real place to learn how, with their parent holding the keys.

    What a child account is

A child account is a supervised FrostBoard account for someone under 18. It is not a separate app and not a watered-down toy. The child gets their own profile and their own login. The difference is that the account only exists inside a family link to a parent or legal guardian, and the parent has the final say on everything that touches another person.

The account is linked to the parent from the first second. There is no way to create one any other way, and there is no switch a kid can flip to turn the supervision off. That is enforced on FrostBoard's servers, not just in the app.

    How to set one up

    1. 1. Verify your own account first

Child accounts can only be created by an ID-verified parent or guardian. If you have not finished ID verification yet, that comes first.

    2. 2. Open the Family tab in your Dashboard

Choose Add child and enter their first name, an email address for them, and their birthdate. The birthdate confirms age eligibility and is never shown to anyone.

    3. 3. Sign the parent attestation

Pick your relationship to the child and confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and authorized to act for them. This is a real agreement, not a checkbox ritual. It is covered in our Terms of Service.

That is the whole process. The account is live, linked to yours, and supervised from the start.

    Nothing goes out without you

    Listings wait for your approval

A listing your child creates stays in draft until you approve it. Once you approve and it publishes, it is visible like any other listing. If you change your mind later, you stay in control.

Meetups and contact info route to you

Finalizing an in-person meetup, sharing a phone number, or sharing an address each requires your approval. Those requests come to your Family tab, and you decide.

Messages happen with you in the room

Every conversation your child is part of automatically includes you. You read the whole thread in your own inbox and you can step in and reply at any time. Messages that ask to meet up or share contact info will not send until you approve that request, attachments stay off for child accounts, and a child can never be messaged outside a supervised thread. All of it is enforced on FrostBoard's servers.

    You see the record

The linked parent can view the child's profile information, safety flags, and recent approval requests and decisions, right in the Family tab.

What we collect, and what we never touch

At account creation we ask you for three things about your child: a first name, an email address, and a birthdate. Beyond that, we hold what the child creates on FrostBoard, like draft listings, plus standard device information, all covered in the Privacy Policy. Children never go through ID verification, so we hold no ID documents for them. We collect no payment information from child accounts.

    • Child accounts are excluded from behavioral analytics.
    • Children's information never enters our marketing systems.
    • We do not sell anyone's personal information, and that includes children's.
    • Child profiles are excluded from FrostBoard's public profile listings.

The full detail lives in our Privacy Policy, including your rights as a parent to review, unlink, and request deletion of your child's information.

    Two parents, one team

Supervision does not have to sit on one set of shoulders. From the Family tab, a linked parent can invite the other parent or a legal guardian to the same child account. The invitee goes through the same ID verification and signs the same attestation before they see anything.

Once linked, every guardian can approve requests, see conversations, and tune their own notifications. One parent can follow everything as it happens while the other gets only the approval requests. Same authority for both, split however your family works.

    When they turn 18

On their eighteenth birthday the account is released automatically. It converts to a standard adult account, parental supervision ends, and they keep everything: their profile, their history, the reputation they earned. Like every adult on FrostBoard, they then complete ID verification before doing anything that touches another member.

They spent years learning to sell honestly with you watching. At 18 they walk into the marketplace already knowing how this place works.

    What this is not

No system replaces a parent, and we will not pretend ours does. Automated safety checks are pattern-based and will not catch everything. What FrostBoard gives you is the final say on everything that matters, visibility into the record, and a marketplace where every adult your child could ever transact with is ID verified and accountable under their real name.

Supervision with teeth. Not a babysitter.

    Set up your family

The Family tab in your Dashboard has everything: add a child, review requests, see the history. The next generation of Alaska sellers learns it from someone. It starts with you.
