Independence Day kicks off the best stretch of the Alaska summer
FrostBoard Events already has the lineup for the days after, right there on the board.
Kick it off with Bear Paw. Five days in downtown Eagle River, July 8 to 12, and every bit of it is free. The Slippery Salmon Olympics, the Running of the Bears, the classic car show, the parade, carnival rides, and the I-Did-A-Duck race down the creek.
From there, take your pick:
Palmer Friday Fling, downtown Palmer, every Friday 11 to 6
Talkeetna Moose Dropping Festival, July 11 to 12
Lagers on the Lawn at the Palmer Alehouse, July 12
Anchorage Summer Festival downtown, July 12 to 14
Free live music all week, too: Matt Hopper at Homestead Park on July 9, Live at Five in Talkeetna on July 10, and Live After Five on F Street in Anchorage.
Plus fresh-picked farmers markets from Wasilla to Spenard to Muldoon, and the Bear Paw Flea Market in Eagle River.
Every festival, market, and race in the state lives on one page, updated the moment a new one posts.
